Michael Kim, Lead Pastor

Pastor Mike is a Southern California native who is happily married to Jamie, and the Lord has blessed them with three amazing children. Mike earned his M.Div at Azusa Pacific University, and he was ordained by EFC in 2010.

When not focused on ministry, you may find him relaxing with his family, doing jigsaw puzzles, cheering for his favorite sports teams, or playing video games with his family. He is an avid Lakers fan, a UCLA Bruin at heart, and a loyal Rams fan.

Andy kuo, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries

Andy grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. After working professionally, he moved to Pasadena to attend Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis in youth ministry.

He is a huge extrovert and loves cats. A big Apple geek, he likes to hang out with youth, build websites, and debate the issue of free will vs. predestination.

Yvette Chuang, Fellowship and Outreach & Care

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the old has gone, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

This is the verse that brought me to Christ at 18 years old. Still thankful for my new life in Christ after 20+ years, I continue this journey to become more and more like Christ and to honor God in all that I think, say and do.  I hope to help coordinate gatherings where people are included and there is genuine Christian concern for one another (Hebrews 10:25).

I have been married to my sweetheart and am a mom to triplets. I enjoy coffee, biographies, beach vacations, volleyball, and a good buffet.

Wendy Cheng, Children’s Ministry

One day I was waiting for my daughter for her music lesson, this teenage girl walked to me and said “Do you remember me? I was in your Sunday School class.” That was the most rewarding moment for Sunday school teacher.

I enjoy moments like when they show me the missing tooth or tell me that their fish die. It is a privilege to be part of their faith journey and childhood memory (good or bad 😓).

Aileen Lam, Finance

Aileen was saved by Christ in college in Hong Kong. She came to the U.S. to continue her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She has been working as a licensed real estate broker since 1992. She and her husband, Ted Chang, have three sons and a daughter.

Ping Ng, Missions

Ping came to the U.S. when he was 2 years old and came to Christ when he was in High School/College. He studied Accounting and has been working at Southern California Gas Company for the last 30 plus years. He is married to Joyce and God has blessed them with 2 daughters. He has served as the church’s auditor for the last 3 years and hopes to help serve the church where he can.

He enjoys spending free time with family and at the gym. You’ll find him enjoying a cup of coffee and catching up on news on Saturdays. God has always been there for him. Psalms 55:22 – Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Kåre Thoresen, Equip

Kåre’s name and accent make sense in Norway where he grew up. He has served as a deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran Free Church in Norway and was part of the group starting Generations Church.

One of his guiding Bible verses is 1 Peter 3:15b “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

Daniel Wong, Worship

Daniel has worked since 2008 as a chaplain in the medical field, and since 2012 he has worked in hospice. He graduated from Talbot School of Theology with a Master's of Divinity, worked in youth ministry for 16 years, and was ordained in 2011 through the Southern Baptist Convention.

Daniel has been serving in the worship ministry for 29 years. God started him on this amazing journey at 16 years old and opened the door to play the guitar, bass, and drums. Daniel loves worshipping God and wants the body of Christ to enter God's courts with praise and to taste and see that He is very good!

He is married to Yun-Lan, and they have two children.

Ken Wong, Operations (Chair)

Ken and Cindy were married at EFC Orange County where they also attended during their newlywed year. They moved to the SGV and attended EFCLA/Harvest as well as celebrated the birth of Timothy and then later Tiffany.
