Leaders
Michael Kim, Lead Pastor
Pastor Mike is a Southern California native who is happily married to Jamie, and the Lord has blessed them with three amazing children. Mike earned his M.Div at Azusa Pacific University, and he was ordained by EFC in 2010.
When not focused on ministry, you may find him relaxing with his family, doing jigsaw puzzles, cheering for his favorite sports teams, or playing video games with his family. He is an avid Lakers fan, a UCLA Bruin at heart, and a loyal Rams fan.
Andy kuo, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries
Andy grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. After working professionally, he moved to Pasadena to attend Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis in youth ministry.
He is a huge extrovert and loves cats. A big Apple geek, he likes to hang out with youth, build websites, and debate the issue of free will vs. predestination.
Henry Ting, Worship (Chair)
Henry came to a personal saving faith and was baptized at EFC in 1979. He’s been married to Alice since 1992, and is a proud father of two. Henry first served as a Deacon in Children Ministry, and then served as Elder for 4 terms (12 years) at EFCLA/HarvestLA. Henry is a VP/co-owner of an insurance agency in Alhambra, and co-owner of a motel in Santa Monica.
In 2008, Henry suffered a near-fatal accident where he fractured his neck and was left paralyzed, face down underwater. By God's grace, his son and his two 10 yr old friends, rescued him from drowning. Then God allowed him to heal and recover almost completely. During his recovery, he was called by God for a new purpose: After 45 years at EFCLA/HarvestLA, he was called to help plant Generations Church LA.
Wendy Cheng, Children’s Ministry
One day I was waiting for my daughter for her music lesson, this teenage girl walked to me and said “Do you remember me? I was in your Sunday School class.” That was the most rewarding moment for Sunday school teacher.
I enjoy moments like when they show me the missing tooth or tell me that their fish die. It is a privilege to be part of their faith journey and childhood memory (good or bad 😓).
Aileen Lam, Finance
Aileen was saved by Christ in college in Hong Kong. She came to the U.S. to continue her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She has been working as a licensed real estate broker since 1992. She and her husband, Ted Chang, have three sons and a daughter.
Ping Ng, Missions
Ping came to the U.S. when he was 2 years old and came to Christ when he was in High School/College. He studied Accounting and has been working at Southern California Gas Company for the last 30 plus years. He is married to Joyce and God has blessed them with 2 daughters. He has served as the church’s auditor for the last 3 years and hopes to help serve the church where he can.
He enjoys spending free time with family and at the gym. You’ll find him enjoying a cup of coffee and catching up on news on Saturdays. God has always been there for him. Psalms 55:22 – Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
Tim Lau, EQUIP
I was nine years old when I first attended a church in Chinatown LA. That was the first time I heard of Jesus, and I accepted the Lord the same year I came to GCLA in 2017 and was baptized in 2022. I enjoy attending Sunday School and studying the Bible with fellow brothers and sisters. This past year I served as the church’s independent auditor. Our family is very blessed to be part of the Generations Church family.
I have been married to Jessica for 20 years. We live in Glendora and have a son and a daughter. In my free time I enjoy watching sports and playing pickleball.
I’ve found Matthew 11:28-29 very comforting in my time of joys and hardships: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
